COVID 19 – WACA Update

By now we are all aware that the COVID 19 has had a major and unprecedented impact on our world and as is often the case the African and Caribbean communities have been adversely affected more than most.

WACA has been impacted too. We have had to suspend our Thrive Youth Project and our 50+ Activities Club. We were planning a Sickle Cell event in June and this has also had to be postponed. However we continue to do what we can in difficult circumstances. We have established a WACA Community Affairs WhatsApp Group and if you are interested in joining please email us with your name and mobile number at:

We are also planning a couple of virtual events: these are:

Virtual Gala Ball on Saturday 2nd May 2020 starting at 7.30pm

Quiz Night on Sunday 10th May 2020 starting at 7.00pm

If you would like to participate please email us at the above email address.

Recognising the impact of COVID we are making our membership free for the coming year. If you would like to become a member please read our articles of association and if you do want to be a part of us please complete and return the membership form available on this site and return to

We can no longer take life for granted, please take care and do think twice before venturing out at this time. Keep safe and keep well.
