To mark the beginning of Bike Week, the UK’s biggest mass participation cycling event, the Watford Cycle Hub offered free bike checks, guided rides, information on local cycle routes and maintenance advice on Saturday 15th June.
The Watford African Caribbean Association supported the community group by preparing a selection of two-course meals for seasoned cyclists, children, families and friends. Stewed Beef with Homemade Chips and Jerk Chicken with Vegetable Pilau Rice (both served with mixed leaf salad, a soft drink and dessert) were popular.
Regular cycling is one of the easiest ways to keep fit, reduce stress and lose weight – its good for the environment and saves you money as a form of transport too.
