I am delighted to welcome our students, their families and our wider community to this new section of the Watford African Caribbean Association website, and to introduce you to the school. The Watford African Caribbean Supplementary School is a vibrant and ambitious learning community, with a strong focus on high academic standards, personal development, and equality of opportunity.
For over 20 years, the Watford African Caribbean Supplementary School has been providing a stimulating but well-ordered learning environment for our students, who benefit from excellent modern facilities. West Herts College offers spacious and well-equipped accommodation for a range of subjects. Our curriculum is designed to provide flexibility and balance, so that we can meet the needs of all our students and prepare them for success in the next phase of their lives.
We constantly seek to find ways to help our students to develop and progress. This allows us to plan and deliver learning pathways that will take students all the way from 5 up to 16.
We are proud of our record of building positive relationships between students, parents, teachers, volunteers and the wider community. We always seek to share our values with all supporters of the school. Involving students’ families in monitoring and promoting progress is a vital part of what we do, and we are always looking for new and better ways to communicate, because we know that when student, school and family work together, we can create the power to drive achievement.
Gwyneth Gibson, Chair of the Watford African Caribbean Supplementary School Committee
